Membership Requirements

General Requirements

The following general requirements shall apply to all applicants, subject to the specific requirements of each membership category.

  • Applicants shall support the objectives, values, and Constitution of PAMA.

  • Applicants shall comply with all applicable laws and regulations in their country of registration or operation.

  • Applicants shall satisfy such additional requirements as may be prescribed by the Executive Council from time to time.

MEMBERSHIP CATEGORIES

Four ways to belong

Each category reflects a distinct role in Africa’s manufacturing ecosystem, with its own eligibility and requirements.

Primary Membership
  • Must be a legally recognised national manufacturers or industrial association representing the manufacturing sector within an African country.
  • Must support the objectives and Constitution of PAMA.
Secondary (Corporate) Membership
  • Must be a legally registered manufacturing companyoperating in two or more African countries.
  • Must be engaged in manufacturing activities involving local value addition.
  • Must employ a minimum of 11 permanent operating staff, excluding domestic staff.
  • Must not be engaged solely in the sale or distribution of imported finished products.
  • Where applicable, should be a member in good standing of its national manufacturers' association.
Associate Membership
  • Must be a legally recognisedorganisation or institution whose activities support manufacturing, industrial development, trade, investment, research, technology, standards, logistics, finance, or related sectors.
  • Must support the objectives and Constitution of PAMA.
Affiliate Manufacturer Membership
  • Must be a legally registered micro, small, or medium-sized manufacturing enterprise (MSME), startup, or emerging manufacturer engaged in manufacturing activities involving local value addition.
  • Must not be represented by a recognised national manufacturers association or must be operating in a country where no such association exists.
  • Where a recognised national manufacturers association exists or is subsequently established, PAMA shall encourage the Affiliate Member to engage through the respective national manufacturers association.
